Prayerfully in paint

Prayerfully in paint

Whilst I am unable to be on my weekly market stall at the moment, I am trying to dedicate my Tuesday's to painting in the studio.  It has been sad not to mark the Passion Tide and Holy Week in the usual way in my church but it has given the gift of the opportunity to respond prayerfully in paint.  As such I have created pieces that have been inspired by my experience in the marketplace and the objects around me at home (apart from the donkey of course!). These reflect and respond to Palm Sunday, Maundy Thursday, Good Friday and Easter.  From the crowds of last year’s Palm procession to the beautifully simple chalice commission by a market potter and the promise of glory at Easter dawn.

I have been sharing these paintings on my social media channels and I thought I would share them on my website as a little gallery wall of my journey through this most extraordinary of Holy Weeks.

I hope they bring some comfort and familiarity to you in such troubling and uncertain times.  Look after yourself and each other.
