8 x 10 original watercolour with pen and ink, signed by the artist
This hand-painted scene captures a walking descent into the charming French village of Minerve which I had the fortune of doing in October. Minerve is a medieval hilltop village perched dramatically above the Cesse River in the Occitanie region of southern France. The village is a labyrinth of winding cobbled streets, ancient stone buildings, a historical St John the Baptist church, and fortifications that date back to the 11th century. The architecture is medieval—narrow passageways, arched doorways, and weathered facades that speak to centuries of history.
