]]>It will be available on Amazon, Nielsens and Pegasus Publishers websites as well as being added to Goodreads review website.
The book is based on a daily journal I recorded when walking part of the Camino de Santiago: this beautifully illustrated book shares with honesty, pathos and humour the experience of a modern pilgrim. It is my hope and prayer that this book may be helpful for those facing hurt and healing in their own lives.
For those unable to travel right now: you are invited to journey devotionally to the tomb of the Apostle and be inspired in planning your own future adventure.
For those whose physical travelling days are behind them; you can be transported to the dusty paths, beautiful chapels and pine and eucalyptus woodland of rural Spain.
A unique printed card from one of my original paintings.

]]>If someone had said to me last year that my hair would be as long as it was at university (but somewhat greyer!); a good night out would be staring at a computer screen; and a change of scene would be walking to the other side of the park, I am not sure I would really have believed them.
But we are all finding ways to keep in contact in these challenging times, novel ways to share the love and indeed discovering the joy of old ways such as sending a card.
With that in mind, I have been busy in my studio (accompanied by Arthur, who regularly audits pens and paintbrushes and insisting most of them should be on the floor!). I have created some new cards for the season of love. Whether romantic, cosy or quirky, I am sure you will find something to warm the heart and give a hug. Consider it an ‘I.O.U’ for the real thing.
Look after yourselves and each other.
God bless

I have been sharing these paintings on my social media channels and I thought I would share them on my website as a little gallery wall of my journey through this most extraordinary of Holy Weeks.
I hope they bring some comfort and familiarity to you in such troubling and uncertain times. Look after yourself and each other.

This community event is raising funds for two brilliant local charities; Jimmy’s homeless project and Cambridge Children’s Charity. As well as seeing my artist’s garden, you will be able to enjoy my original artwork, greetings cards, prints and postcards that will all be on sale on the day with a donation to these two great charities.

I have recently created an artistic response to four of Penhaligon's best loved fragrances: Blenheim Bouquet; English Fern; Orange Blossom and Bluebell. The original framed artwork will be displayed and on sale at the event. From this artwork I have also created a unique set of postcards.
To celebrate this, the Cambridge Penhaligon's store will be hosting a heritage afternoon on Saturday 25th May from 1pm. With a glass of bubbly, chocolates, a sample of one of the beautiful fragrances, together with the accompanying complimentary postcard of one of the portraits. We also hope to have a historical figure joining us too....
If this sounds like fun and you are in the Cambridge area on that day, do join us at the Penhaligon’s store on St Andrew’s Street.
To enhance the experience even further, you can have a complimentary hand and arm massage with one of Penhaligon's luxurious Hand and Body Lotions. To book a massage either call the Cambridge store on 01223 322664 or email cambridge@penhaligons.com
I look forward to seeing you for a lovely afternoon celebrating my new collection.
]]>These cards are perfect for Mother’s Day, Easter or just something to brighten up somebody’s day.
These cards are available on my online store and for those who live or visiting Cambridge, you will find them in the delightful shop in Great St Mary’s Church in the market square.

There has been quite a buzz about how to build on the great atmosphere of Michaelhouse’s first retrospective exhibition for its 2018 artists.
We are now looking to channel that energy into a new group for Cambridge creatives to come together over a cuppa to share, support and possibly co-create.
I am pleased to share that this new informal meet up will be held every third Saturday at 2.15pm in the Michaelhouse Chancel, Cambridge, UK. (Entrance via the café). It is hoped that we can nurture an environment for artists and other creatives to share work in a supportive atmosphere to build on the artistic community at Michaelhouse and wider Cambridge. If you are interested, why not come along to our next session on 16th March 2019.

]]>As someone new to exhibiting it really helped to share the space with two other local and more experienced artists, Gary Dadd and Sue Smith (@garydadd www.garydadd.com @suesmithart www.suesmithart.com ). There was a lovely buzz at our private view evening back in early December.
What a wonderful evening to share with family, friends and others to see a showcase of local talent.
I was delighted with how well my art was received and how many people over the evening and coming weeks found pieces from my portfolio that they wanted to find a place in their home and hearts for.
Having been offered the West Wall of the Michaelhouse Centre, (the wall leading to the cafe counter), I found that my exhibition curated around the five themes of:-
Flowers - they have always been a joy and uplifter of the spirit for me. Over a number of years, I have taught myself to arrange fresh flowers that I have enjoyed buying from the Cambridge market each week. I have always found the experience like a different way of painting, in bringing the different colours and textures together, in a way that they seem happy with.
Boats - From the earliest days, boats have been a powerful subject in my art and in my imagination. Like many I find their story of journey, endeavour and wistful romance compelling.
America - After a challenging couple of years, with much change in my life, I finally took some time out in the summer of 2018 and travelled in the US to places I have been before and some that I had longed to visit. From the old world charm of Charleston, to the salty air of Cape Cod, I found much to inspire the paintbrush and digital pencil.
Camino - Following a challenging recovery from heart surgery, I undertook the physical and spiritual journey, in the autumn of 2018 as I trod some of the steps of centuries of pilgrims. As I travelled some 120km across the most stunning rural countryside in northern spain, I visited many of the ancient churches along the route. I was inspired to respond to the experience in watercolour and enjoyed the way the ink lent substance and history to the pieces.

I have many happy memories of spending time as a boy with Uncle Norman and Auntie Edna in their wonderfully idyllic rural home, nestled in the Essex countryside. Particularly having the privilege to explore Norman’s studio. It was a revelation to me that somebody was able to dedicate their whole working life to a creative pursuit that gave them and others such joy. I still treasure the letters from Norman and the Christmas cards he created each year for the family with the characteristic sketch of himself resplendent with pipe. I cheekily pointed out that one of his comic cartoon characters had an uncanny resemblance to his headscarved wife and there was a definite glint in his eye when questioned…....
‘this proudly sits on the wall in my snug to be enjoyed every day’
I hope that he would be pleased that his ever inquisitive great nephew is now pursuing what he encouraged all those years ago in his rural studio.
I was fortunate that both Norman and my grandmother encouraged and nurtured my interest in art and sketching and helped me to develop a critical eye.
